On behalf of the staff and students of Brown Middle School, we want to welcome your family to your neighborhood school.  Brown Middle School is the home to nearly 850 6^th - 8^th grade students.  We have worked hard to prepare our facility so that your experience here is positive and rewarding.  We strive to keep our school looking clean and “green” and we take great pride in being a positive influence in our community.  We look forward to serving you and we are eager to help your children achieve and maintain high standards of behavior and academics.

 You should know that every teacher places a high priority on academic improvement and proficiency on difficult state standards.  We know the work will be hard but we promise to communicate our expectations to you on a regular basis.  It will be important for you to speak to your child’s teacher often because you are a key partner in education.  In addition to academics, we will offer a host of extra curricular activities that we know will capture your child’s interest and imagination.  We hope you will choose to have your child take part in these activities.  We also have the 21^st Century and after school enrichment programs which are available to meet the needs of our students.

 It is our hope and expectation that you will take the time to become involved in the education of your child.  You can do this by volunteering in the classroom, or by taking part in our Parental Involvement Program, School Site Council, and other parent committees.  You can be involved by attending Back to School Night, Open House, and Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Please remember that you are your child’s first, most important teacher.  Please join with us in the great adventure called middle school.

Estimadas Familias de Brown,

Departe del personal e estudiantes de la secundaria Brown, les damos la bienvenida a su familia.  En  la escuela secundaria Brown habitan casi 850 estudiantes de grados 6to hasta 8vo grado.  Hemos preparado de todo a todo para que su experiencia sea positiva y agradable.  Nos esforzamos para mantener una escuela “verde” y limpia.  Nos da mucho orgullo ser una influencia positive en la comunidad.  Queremos servirles y estamos ansiosos para ayudar a sus hijos llegar a altas metas de comportamiento y academia.   

Deben saber que la prioridad de cada maestro es el mejoramiento académico de cada estudiante hacia las normas estatales.  Sabemos que el trabajo será difícil sin embargo nos comprometemos a comunicar nuestras expectativas regularmente.  Será importante que usted hable frecuentemente con los maestros, siendo que somos compañeros en la educación de sus hijos. Además, les ofreceremos muchas actividades que capturaran el interés e imaginación de sus hijos.  Esperamos que ustedes escojan participar en estas actividades. El programa 21st Century y el programa de tutoria se ofrecerán de nuevo después de la escuela.       

Es nuestro deseo e esperanza que usted tome el tiempo para participar en la educación de sus hijos.  Usted puede dar tiempo a los salones o participar en un comité como el involucramiento de padres o el Consejo Escolar.  Usted puede participar en la Noche del Regreso a la Escuela, Noche de Padres y conferencias entre padres/maestros.  Usted es el primer y más importante maestro de sus hijos.  Por favor únanse a esta gran aventura llamada escuela secundaria.
